The crash happened around 1 p.m. Saturday at the intersection of River and Chamberlain roads in the Town of Lebanon.

Sheriff's deputies say Courtney Mills, 30, of Sherburne, lost control of her car in the slippery conditions. Mills' car was hit by another driver on the passenger side, where her seven-year-old niece, Abigail Seaton, was sitting. She's in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital.

Mills and the driver of the second vehicle were hospitalized, but are expected to be okay.
