BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. -- Binghamton University has suspended one of its fraternities amidst reports of underage drinking and hazing.
The Alpha Chi Rho fraternity is under investigation by both the university and Binghamton Police for the actions of its members.
BU says it uncovered a report of underage alcohol use and behavior that could violate the University's hazing policy. No other details were provided.
Both the University and the national organization have suspended all fraternity activities pending the outcome of the investigation.
The announcement comes as BU prepares to cut ties with another fraternity. Zeta Beta Tau is no longer being recognized by its national organization for failing to pay dues and Binghamton University is following suit.
