ONONDAGA COUNTY, N.Y. -- It's been more than a year since a Cicero-North Syracuse High School student was killed in a car crash, but family and friends continue to keep her memory alive.

The first-ever Taylor Fleming blood drive was held Friday at Driver's Village in Cicero. More than a hundred people came out to give blood and honor the 17-year-old who died in December of 2011.

Family members say Taylor needed a lot of blood when she was hospitalized following the crash, and felt the drive was a great way to help others while paying tribute to her life.

"To know that other want to help remember her, and help give back for her. It's nice that everyone's trying to keep her name alive," said Kaleigh Fleming, Taylor's sister.
