UNITED STATES -- A ruling is once again on hold that will determine whether hydrofracking companies will have to disclose the chemicals they're using when drilling on federal lands.

The Obama administration proposed the rule last May with a final ruling that would have been completed by the end of 2012. That date was then pushed back to earlier this year.

On Friday, the administration announced that a second draft of the rule would be issued by the end of March, with a prospective final rule by late 2013. An Interior Department spokesman said that the administration is committed to responsibly approaching hydrofracking and instilling confidence in the public.
