CICERO, N.Y. -- Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy was in Cicero Wednesday presenting the governor's budget plan to leaders in Onondaga County.
Duffy touched on many topics, including mandate relief and pension costs.
Like many municipalities, Cicero is facing rising pension costs that make up almost 10 percent of their budget. Leaders say the governor's proposal to freeze rates would provide some much needed stability.
"From a local municipality, this is going to be very effective to help us budget better and help us provide some of that relief that we really need," said Cicero Town Supervisor Jim Corl.
On the topic of gun control, the Lieutenant Governor says we should expect to see some amendments made to the New York SAFE law, addressing issues brought up in the past week.
