WATERTOWN, N.Y. -- The City of Watertown will no longer run the concession stand at Thousand Island Privateers hockey games. Council members agreed at Monday night's meeting to let Savory Beverages take over.

The change comes after the Liquor Authority notified Savory that as the liquor license owner, it was required by law to sell the food as well. Mayor Jeff Graham says although the city is upset, they are losing the revenue from the concession stand. It was something they needed to move forward with.

"Frankly, it was going fine. I mean, things were being sold responsibly, we were running a nice concession stand, but there are certain things in life that you just can't argue anymore," said Watertown Mayor Jeff Graham.

Officials say this change will get them through the rest of this 2013 season and plans for next season will be decided at a later date.
