Syracuse Police are investigating two armed robberies that happened about a half-mile away from each other Saturday night.

Police responded to Coldbrook Drive, near South Salina Street on the city's southside, around 7:15 Saturday night. Police say a Papa's Pizza delivery man was counting cash in his car after a delivery on Coldbrook Drive when a man approached the delivery vehicle. The suspect pointed a handgun at the 28-year-old delivery driver and demanded money, Syracuse Police Sgt. Tom Connellan said.

The delivery driver gave the suspect the cash, and the suspect fled on foot south, along the creek, police say.

The suspect is described as a black male, 5'8" and about 150 pounds. He was wearing a black mask, dark clothing and gray sweat pants.

Less than an hour later, police were called to Seniora's Pizza inside a gas station on South Salina Street. Police say a 19-year-old was in the store when a man approached him from behind and demanded money.

Police say the man held a knife to the victim's neck while demanding money. The victim told police the suspect took his cash and wallet.

That suspect is described as a black male, in his 20s, 6'2" with a thin build. This suspect was wearing dark clothing and a hat. He was last seen running west on Dorwin Avenue.

Police aren't sure if the two robberies are connected.
