Some Armory Square businesses are relieved that the water main break is cleared up today. Dining Week continues today through next Thursday, giving customers some incentive to dine in downtown Syracuse. Our Brad Vivacqua joins us from Franklin Street with more.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Both Franklin and Walton streets re-opened Tuesday night and area stores and restaurants are hoping to get some extra customers in the coming days. Of course, things are looking much better here in Armory Square this morning compared to a little less than 24 hours ago.

One incentive that may helps some customers here into downtown is the ninth annual Downtown Dining Week. Twenty-three restaurants are offering three courses for $25 or less today through February 28th.

For the ninth year, it's an opportunity to come try a restaurant you've never tried before at a time when business is typically a little slower. Officials say it traditionally brings about 25,000 people to area restaurants.

Syracuse Downtown Committee Communications Director Lisa Rome said, "Dining Week is something that is a huge boost for even when restaurants compare it to some of their strong weeks throughout the year, Dining Week definitely stands up against them so it's great to be able to offer the restaurants downtown a boost when it's slower during the middle of the winter."

Just two restaurants, Sakana-Ya and Namu, which are participating in Dining Week, were forced to close temporarily due to the water main break. It's hopeful they will be back open with a full menu soon after getting approval from the health department. Your best option is to call ahead for more information and make a reservation if possible.
