SYRACUSE, N.Y. - High school hoops star Breanna Stewart got the baseball season started in Syracuse Thursday by throwing out the ceremonial first pitch before the Chiefs' 2012 opener against Rochester at Alliance Bank Stadium.
The C-NS senior has won numerous national awards individually and led the Northstars to the state and federation basketball titles last month.
Stewart's pitch was low and outside but brought a big smile from the UConn-bound teenager. Bre gave way to baseball phenom Bryce Harper as the Chiefs opened the season with a 7-4 loss to the Red Wings. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
